Maintaining the security of your data is a priority here at Lomac Aviators Limited and we are committed to respecting your privacy rights.  We pledge to handle your data fairly and legally at all times. Here at Lomac Aviators Limited we are also dedicated to being transparent about what data we collect about you and how we use it.

This privacy policy sets out how we Lomac Aviators Limited use and protect any information that you give to us when you visit us directly (this is either as a Day Member taking a Trial Lesson or a Full Member either a Student or Self-flyer [PPL or LAPL]), or when you shop on-line via our Website. We hold your information in the form of paper and electronic.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection Act (DPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have a number of important rights.

  • Right to fair processing of information and transparency over how we use your personal information – we are required to inform you why we want to gather your personal information, what we will do with it, who it will be shared with and how long it will be kept for.   • Right to request a copy of your information – you can request a copy of your information which we hold, this is done via submitting a subject access request for (SAR). If you would like a copy of some or all of the information please contact us with proof of your identity and let us know what information you would like. We must provide this information to you within 1 month of the request
  • Right to require us to correct any mistakes in your information – you can require us to correct any information which we hold. If you would like to do this, please contact us to let us know the information that is incorrect and what is should be replaced with
  • Right to ask us to stop contacting you with direct marketing – you can ask us to stop contacting you for direct marketing purposes at any time. If you would like to do this, please contact us and let us know what method of contact (one or all) you are not happy with

CCTV for crime prevention

CCTV is used for maintaining the security of property and premises and for preventing and investigating crime, it may also be used to monitor staff when carrying out work duties. For these reasons the information processed may include visual images, personal appearance and behaviours. This information may be about staff, customers, members (students and self-flyers [PPL and LAPL]), offenders and suspected offenders, members of the public and those inside, entering or in the immediate vicinity of the area under surveillance. Where necessary or required this information is shared with the data subjects themselves, employees and agents, services providers, police forces, security organisations and persons making an enquiry.

Transfers

It may sometimes be necessary to transfer personal information overseas. When this is needed information is only shared within the European Economic Area (EEA).

Keeping your data secure

Here at Lomac Aviators Limited we have put appropriate security measures in place to prevent your personal information being accidentally lost or used or accessed in an unauthorised way. We also limit access to your personal information to operational staff and flight instructors only for the day to day running of the Flying Club. Some of the technical and organisational measures we use to safeguard your personal data are:

  • storing your personal data, in all forms, in a secure environment
  • training our staff on the importance of data protection measures
  • securing our network by an advanced firewall supported by industry standard anti-virus software

We also have policies and procedures in place to deal with any suspected data breach so that we can act quickly to minimise any potential damage.

All data will only be shared once a Subject Access Request Form (SAR) is submitted.

Any transfers and sharing of data by us will be in full compliance with all aspects of the Data Protection Act (DPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Please note under the new rules we have 1 month to comply with a SAR, we can refuse a request but we must tell the reasons why we are refusing and we must also advise that there is the right to complain about our refusal to give or share the data.

This privacy notice was first published on 30 April 2017 and last updated on 22nd May 2018.

Your privacy is important to us and we are constantly reviewing our policies and procedures to ensure we are meeting the high standards we set ourselves.
